East Washington approves 2013 budget
East Washington Borough residents don’t have to worry about paying more in real estate taxes in 2013.
Borough council Monday approved a tentative $853,700 budget. Final approval is expected at council’s Dec. 17 meeting. The budget includes $171,000 for roads and streets, up from $85,721 last year, and $40,000 for culture and recreation, up from $18,744 last year.
The borough’s tax rate remains at 28 mills, with each mill generating approximately $10,000.
