PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said a man killed in a Pittsburgh hit-and-run incident had reportedly argued with the driver of the vehicle before he was struck.

The medical examiner said the dead man is 40-year-old Chad Vida, of Etna, a nearby suburb.

Pittsburgh police have yet to name the driver, though they said they know that person’s identity.

Police said Vida was found lying on Liberty Avenue near the Bloomfield Bridge shortly after he was hit about 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the driver stopped to call 911 from a location near the accident scene and has been interviewed by detectives.

It was not immediately clear Monday if or when police planned to charge the driver. Police said they still need more information from any witnesses to complete their investigation.
