PITTSBURGH – Authorities say more tests are needed in the case of the son of a northeastern Pennsylvania judge who died after he was struck by a vehicle in Pittsburgh over the weekend.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office said Tuesday that the cause and manner of death of 22-year-old Cody Barrasse is pending results of toxicology tests.

The Penn State senior was struck around 2:15 a.m. Saturday in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle initially left the scene, but then called police. The accident remains under investigation.

Penn State spokeswoman Lisa Powers says Barrasse was a senior majoring in finance and was set to graduate next month.

Barrasse is the son of Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael Barrasse. A funeral is scheduled for Friday.
