Cake class focuses on summer desserts
WAYNESBURG – With warmer weather bringing thoughts of outdoor parties and picnics, the Greene County Department of Recreation will offer a cake decorating class next month focusing on summer-themed desserts and treats.
“Summer Cake Creations with Von Lee” will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 7 on the lower level of the 4-H Building at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
The cost to attend is $25, and the registration deadline is May 3. Class size is limited.
Participants in the hands-on class will see creative techniques demonstrated and learn the skills needed to create masterpieces of their own. No prior decorating experience is necessary.
Attendees of the class will decorate a dozen cupcakes to take home, so an adequate container should be brought. Supplies will be provided, although bringing an apron is optional. Attendees should also wear comfortable shoes.
The cake decorating class is sponsored by the Greene County commissioners and Department of Recreation.
