Cal U. basketball player cleared of one sex assault but faces new charges
A 19-year-old California University of Pennsylvania basketball player was cleared today of one sexual assault, but was arrested on new sex assault charges after another woman leveled accusations against him.
Jeremy Posey of Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing today in Central Court on rape and other charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman at her Vulcan Village apartment last month. Those charges were withdrawn at the hearing by the Washington County district attorney’s office.
Instead, California University of Pennsylvania served him with a warrant for his arrest on charges of rape, rape of an unconscious victim and sexual assault for allegedly raping a woman in a campus dormitory on April 1, 2012. He was arraigned by District Judge Valarie Constanzo, who set bond at $50,000. He was led from the courtroom in handcuffs.
