Spring cleanup days scheduled
WAYNESBURG – A number of municipalities have scheduled spring cleanup days to help residents get rid of unwanted items around their houses during spring cleaning.
The following is a list of cleanup days and recycling events for municipalities compiled by Mimi Ritenour, solid waste and recycling coordinator for the Greene County Department of Economic Development.
Residents are encouraged to take their items to the event in their municipality. However, the computer and electronic recycling events that will be held in Greensboro and at Harveys-Aleppo Grange in Gray Township are open to everyone.
Items that will not be accepted at any of the sites, unless indicated, include combustible or hazardous materials, household garbage, batteries and oil. In addition, refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners must be tagged indicating the Freon has been removed.
