Peters Twp. baseball players disciplined
Members of the Peters Township High School baseball team who threw a water bottle at a passing vehicle from a school bus April 5 have been disciplined by the district and the team.
The students were not identified and the district did not release the nature of the discipline.
The incident occurred on Interstate 79. The driver whose vehicle was struck notified police, who were waiting for the bus when it returned to the school.
“Following an investigation that was conducted in cooperation with the state police, the students involved in the incident were identified,” said Shelly Belcher, district communication coordinator.
“The students have received disciplinary actions from the school as well as the baseball team. Behavior that may compromise the safety of our students or others is taken very seriously by the district, on campus or anywhere our students are representing Peters Township.”
