City woman arrested on drug charges
A Washington woman was arrested Saturday by Washington police after a traffic stop near a parochial school.
Kinsey L. Dean, 25, of 275 N. Franklin St., was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for going the wrong direction on Pine Alley off West Walnut Street near North Franklin Street.
When the driver, identified as Davoun Fuse, 32, of Canonsburg, spotted police, he reportedly turned around and came back the other way.
When Officer Peter Jaskiewicz stopped the vehicle, he said he could see Dean making movements in the passenger seat. When the officer asked for registration, Fuse unlocked the glove compartment with the vehicle keys. Jaskiewicz said he could see a large wad of cash.
Fuse and Dean were removed from the vehicle for a pat-down. When Dean got out of the car, police said they could see a small bag of suspected crack on the passenger seat.
Dean was placed in the cruiser and taken to the city police station. North Franklin Township police Officer Lindsi Kopko searched Dean and said she found four large bags of suspected crack hidden in Dean’s pants, along with more cash.
Kopko also found more cash in Dean’s bra, as well as a digital scale, police said.
Police also noted the stop was made in a school zone, near John F. Kennedy Catholic School.
Dean was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver cocaine. She was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for April 24 before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
