Police looking for construction site thieves

1 min read

State police are looking for the thieves who stole approximately $20,000 in construction equipment from two sites in South Strabane Township late Monday or early Tuesday.

Some of the equipment was even stolen from a bridge span that is being built as part of the new south junction of interstates 70 and 79. Police said items were also stolen from a construction trailer at that site as well as from a storage container at a site off I-79 northbound at the Laboratory exit.

Stolen items include saws, blades, drill bits, grinders and tools. The items stolen from the southbound job site are owned by Golden Triangle Construction of Imperial. The tools taken from the I-79 site are owned by W.R. Casteel Corp. of Hopwood.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
