1 min read

Two men charged in separate armed convenience store robberies waived their preliminary hearings Wednesday and will stand trial. Michael G. Stienstraw Jr., 26, of 2229 Jefferson Ave., Canton, is charged in the Jan. 21 holdup of Isaly’s, 2400 Jefferson Ave. A second suspect, Shayne C. Coffield, 23, of 247 W. Hallam Ave., Washington, remains at large. Stienstraw waived charges of robbery, terroristic threats, theft and simple assault. His bond was reduced from $100,000 to $15,000 by District Judge Valarie Constanzo.

Coffield is also a suspect is the March 27 armed robbery of the Uni-Mart, East Maiden Street, Washington. His co-defendent, Christopher Pitzarella, 23, of Washington, also waived his hearing Wednesday in Central Court on charges including robbery and theft in that holdup. He remains in Washington County Jail on $100,000 bond.
