Police beat April 19
Drug charges: Angeleica Michelle Harris, 19, of 25 Woodland Drive, Burgettstown, was charged this week by McDonald police with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well as speeding in connection with an April 4 traffic stop on Route 18 at Vian Drive, Burgettstown. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Wallet, keys stolen: Jordan Atallah, 616 McNary Ave., told Canonsburg police Thursday that his wallet and keys to heavy equipment were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.
Woman charged: Bobbi Jo Chiff, 25, of 107 Fannie St., McDonald, was charged Monday by Canonsburg police with flight to avoid prosecution, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct for allegedly running from officers after they tried to take her into custody on a bench warrant April 4. Chiff got out of a vehicle and ran across Pike Street. She was taken into custody and placed in the Washington County jail on a bench warrant. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Charged in assault: Derek Miller, 30, of 212 Valley View Terrace, Canonsburg, was charged this week with simple assault and harassment for allegedly hitting Amanda Ritenour of Canonsburg while she was in a vehicle April 12 in Valley View Terrace. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Assault, harassment charges: Erica Patterson, 25, of 416 Hooks Lane, Canonsburg, was charged this week with simple assault and harassment. She is accused of jumping on Phylicia Manes of Canonsburg, pulling her hair and punching her in the face while the two were at the Elks Canon Lodge, Murdock Street, on Feb. 17. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Disorderly charges: Chris Collins, 35, and Debra McKinney, 57, both of Washington, were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with an incident outside 220 Bench Ave., Canton, Wednesday. Collins is accused of breaking the lights at the home of Charlene Iskey while McKinney is accused of throwing the lights at the house trailer.
Teens assaulted: Melissa Russell, 24, of Avella, will be charged by state police with simple assault and two counts of harassment in connection with an incident early Sunday at 107 Gardner St., Cross Creek. Mackenzie Dhans, 18, and Eliza Wonsettler, 18, both of Washington, told police Wednesday that Russell punched both of them in the back of the head during a confrontation. Dhans suffered a mild concussion, police said. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Charged in crash: Robert Lee Kinder, 65, of 1130 North Branch Road, McDonald, was charged by McDonald police with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving in connection with a one-vehicle crash near his home in Robinson. Police said Kinder’s truck went off the road and ended up in a ditch. Kinder told police he tried to turn into his driveway when he hit an embankment. He then backed across the road and ended up in the ditch. He was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital where blood was drawn. His blood-alcohol content exceeded the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication, police said.
Two charged: Two people from Wheeling, W.Va., were charged with possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop in Washington late Wednesday night, city police said. Police said they spotted Kenneth Wilson, 28, and Brian Wahl, 29, acting suspiciously and pulled over their vehicle on Jefferson Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Police said they found marijuana and prescription pills in the car.
Drug charge: Robert Hopkins, 25, of 37 Griffith Ave., Washington, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after Washington police said they found him with prescription drugs that were prescribed to another person. Police said they saw Hopkins staggering in the 500 block of East Maiden Street about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
