Greene Co. Farm Bureau to offer $500 scholarship
A $500 scholarship will be offered again this year to a son, daughter, or grandchild of a Greene County Farm Bureau member. Applicants must have a current grade-point average of 2.5 and must submit an application and essay by June 1. The winner is eligible to receive the scholarship only one time, and the check will be made directly to the student upon receipt of proof of admission to the college of his or her choice. Further information will be distributed to Greene County schools.
In addition to a transcript showing the applicant’s GPA and a college acceptance letter, each application must contain the name, address and phone number of the applicant; the name of related Greene County Farm Bureau member; a list of extracurricular activities; a list of community-based volunteer work the applicant has completed; and a topical essay of no more than 250 words in which the applicant expresses how agriculture influences his or her life; however, there are no restrictions on the college major chosen by the candidate.
Anyone desiring additional information may contact Greene County Farm Bureau news director, Dr. Lonnie Brewster at 724-428-3004.
