A Donegal Township man was arrested Wednesday by township police on charges that he sexually assaulted a boy over a five-year period.

David Alan Rogers, 47, of 35 Interstate Drive, was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors.

The assaults allegedly took place between 2003 and 2008 at a house in Claysville, beginning when the boy was 5.

Donegal police Sgt. Ron Catrain said Rogers’ arrest followed a joint investigation with the Washington County district attorney’s sex crimes unit. The boy told a third party about the alleged assaults, and that person contacted investigators.

Rogers was placed in the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday in Central Court.
