JEFFERSON – Six students from Jefferson-Morgan High School were inducted into the National Honor Society in a ceremony at the school April 11.

Guest Speaker for the evening was Bridget Sereday, Jefferson-Morgan alumna and current associate attorney with the firm of Lutz & Pawk LLP in Butler. Mark Pochron, school board president; Donna Furnier, superintendent of schools; and NHS adviser Michelle Huba also spoke.

Members were selected by a faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character.

“National Honor Society members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community,” said Huba.

The Jefferson-Morgan High School chapter has been active since 1981.

The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. Chapters exist in more than 60 percent of the nation’s high schools, and since 1921 millions of students have been selected for membership.
