Rink to host Zumba after dark
GREENSBORO – The Greene County Department of Recreation will host “Zumba Party After Dark” from 8:30 to 10 p.m. May 17 at Mon View Roller Rink in Greensboro.
Instructors Melissa Frameli and Shastina Humble will each lead a special 45-minute session of the fitness program Zumba that will make use of the roller rink’s music, light system and disco ball. Attendees should wear sweat-absorbing clothes and good support shoes, such as cross-training or dance shoes, and bring water and towels. The cost is $10 per person.
The Zumba party is just one of the many fitness classes that the Department of Recreation is offering this spring. Aerobics classes will run from 6 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday from May 1 through June 5, and Zumba classes will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. every Thursday from May 2 through June 6. Humble will lead the classes, which will be held in the 4-H Building at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Waynesburg.
Individual classes can be attended at a cost of $8 per class. Anyone wishing to attend all six weeks of a session, however, can pre-register at a discounted rate of $5 per class, for a total of $30 per session. The early registration deadlines are Tuesday for aerobics and Wednesday for Zumba.
The Department of Recreation is also offering morning classes in Zumba with Frameli. Zumba classes will be offered from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday through May 24. The class scheduled for Friday, May 17 will be held Thursday, May 16. Classes will be held in the 4-H Building and cost $8 each.
