Police beat Aug. 5
Stolen truck involved in crash: A pickup truck stolen from a home in the 400 block of Brad Avenue in Canton Township early Sunday morning was later discovered crashed on Sunset Road, state police said. Police said no one was in the truck when they found it and are now searching for a suspect.
22 concertgoers cited: State police cited 22 people, including seven juveniles, for underage drinking before Friday night’s Blake Shelton concert at First Niagara Pavilion in Hanover Township. Police said they cited Kelli R. Nicholas, 19, Breanna M. Rossi, 19, Andru K. Boring, 20, Megan C. Kugler, 18, Jessie E. Fritz, 19, Benjamin G. Anton, 18, Jared C. Cardillo, 18, Sarah K. Kimutis, 19, Adam R. Nietsch, 18, Brandon C. Wussick, 19, Darren A. Carone, 18, Kathleen M. Dillow, 19, Madison I. Taylor, 19, Kaitlyn T. Miles, 20, and Hannah P. Balogh, 19. State police did not identify the juveniles who were also cited for underage drinking.
Harassment charge: James L. Simpson, 24, of Waynesburg, was charged with harassment after state police said he slammed a 24-year-old woman against the floor and head-butted her. Police said the incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 2300 block of Vista Valley Drive in South Franklin.
