Independent on ballot in North Strabane

1 min read

An independent candidate, who filed nominating papers last week with the Washington County elections office, can have his name on the Nov. 5 ballot as a candidate for both the two-year and six-year seats open on the five-person board of supervisors in North Strabane Township.

Neil Kelly, of Eighty Four, will be facing Republican Robert F. Balogh and Democrat Bill Brooks, both of whom won their parties’ nominations for the two-year and six-year terms that are open.

Kelly received a clarification Monday from Larry Spahr, Washington County elections director.

Aug. 1 was the deadline for third-party and independent candidates to file documents with the elections office.
