Police beat Aug. 6
Theft case: Craig W. Younkin, 30, of 215 Henry St., Belle Vernon, is charged by Roscoe, Elco, Stockdale and Allenport Regional police with theft, accused of stealing $90 from Lindsey Franko about midnight Saturday while she worked at Allenport Marina, court records show. He is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Theft reports: Ray Campenfeld and Christopher Coen told borough police items they had stored in a shared basement at 515 Perry Como St. turned up missing about 3 p.m. Saturday. The items included a television, tools and a snow blower, police said.
Woman assaulted: Joseph Bullock, 31, of 254 Maple Ridge Drive, Canonsburg, is charged by township police with simple assault, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment and harassment, court records show. Police accuse him of striking his fiancee, Erin Thibodeaux, five times in the head and holding her against her will in the bathroom at his residence about 11 p.m. July 28, the affidavit indicates. Bullock is free on $50,000 unsecured bond after being arraigned in the case Friday before District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Burglary arrest: Jared W. Dalton, 20, of 1115 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with burglary, theft, trespassing and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police accuse him of breaking into the 913 McKean Ave. residence of Ronald Dewitt about 8:30 p.m. Thursday and stealing a suitcase, digital camera, safe, $50 and an e-reader. Police said Dalton left most of the items behind after the burglary was interrupted by a neighbor, Eugenio Mendez, who punched the suspect before he fled on foot. Dalton is in Washington County jail on $20,000 bond set Friday by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Vehicles collide: Kimberly Keenan, 42, of Houston, suffered moderate injuries in a three-vehicle collision about 8 p.m. Sunday on Route 519 near Ullom Road, township police said. All three vehicles were traveling in the same direction when a vehicle driven by Kyle Craker, 29, of Corry, slowed for animals on the road. A third vehicle traveling behind Kimberly Keenan, driven by David Keenan, 44, also of Houston, was unable to come to a stop, causing a chain-reaction collision, police said. Kimberly Keenan complained of knee pain and was treated at an area hospital.
Drug arrest: Rodney D. Shaw, 40, of 308 E. Barr St., McDonald, is charged by borough police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police said they seized a half tablet of morphine and seven Xanax tablets during a July 31 search of Shaw’s residence. He is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Criminal mischief: Nearly 50 mailboxes were discovered damaged, possibly with a baseball bat, after township police received the first report about them at 2 a.m. Saturday from a resident of Meadowridge Drive. Others were found damaged that morning along Fieldstone, Meadowbrook, Saddlebrook and Bluegrass drives.
Truck stolen: Frank Valencic, owner of Tomsic Motors, told township police Saturday he discovered a 1978 two-tone GMC Sierra three-quarter-ton pickup truck valued at $6,500 had been stolen from his lot at 150 Racetrack Road after closing time Thursday.
Disorderly conduct: A resident in the 200 block of Churchill Road told police he found more than 50 metal decking screws lined across his driveway in an obvious attempt to deflate vehicle tires, township police said. The resident found the screws before driving over them and reported the incident at 9:45 a.m. Monday.
Theft: An employee of Ryan Homes reported construction material stolen from a construction site in the 500 block of Cortland Drive, Finleyville, township police said. Stolen were stone vinyl siding, coil stock and various boxes of nails and screws. The material was last seen Friday and was reported missing at 8:26 a.m. Monday.
Vehicle stolen: A resident of the 500 block of Circle Drive told police he had just returned home from taking a person to the hospital when he heard a horn blowing. He looked out of the window and noticed his 2007 silver Acura TSX missing. He told police he left the keys in the ignition. The theft was reported at 3:05 a.m. Monday. The Pennsylvania license plate number is HZA 0506.
Theft of jewelry: A bag of jewelry valued at $1,400 was reported stolen from a closet in a house for sale in the 300 block of Village Green Drive at 11:17 a.m. Sunday, township police said. The homeowner told police the house and many of its contents are for sale, and while showing the house to two couples at 4 p.m. Saturday, one of the couples broke away and were seen going in to the closet.
Access device fraud: A resident of the 100 block of Southvue Court reported Saturday that he was notified his credit card, which he told police was not lost or out of his possession, was used at a Walmart north of Philadelphia to make seven $50 charges. The receipts, police said, indicated the card was swiped to complete the purchases.
Retail theft: Two men were seen running out of TJ Maxx in Donaldsons Crossroads shopping center at 4:43 p.m. Friday with their arms filled with merchandise for which they had not paid, township police said. A witness saw the men running and copied the license plate of the vehicle in which the men fled with two women inside, police said. A check of the license plate revealed the owner lives in Monaca, but that his daughter lives in Washington, police said. After notifying Washington police, the car was stopped with the four people inside. Police said all of the merchandise, valued at $444, was also inside with the price tags still attached. Charged with retail theft was Kevin Robert Ledbetter, 25, of 464 E. Hallam Ave., Washington. To be charged with retail theft by summons in the mail is Freddie Kimbrew, 29, also of 464 E. Hallam, police said. The two women were not charged.
Drug arrest: William Fields, 22, address unknown, is charged by township police with possession of heroin with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse him of having 120 stamp bags of heroin as a passenger in a vehicle stopped about 3 p.m. July 2 at Trinity Point. Fields is in Washington County jail on $200,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant and arraigned Saturday before District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Theft case: Bobbie Jo Yerkey, 29, of 250 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, is charged by township police with theft and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police accuse her of stealing a purse containing $1,000 and other items from Rachael Kovach of Joffre about 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Langeloth Community Center. Yerkey is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Endangerment charge: Harold Needham faces child endangerment charges after Washington police said he left his children outside a city bar while he went inside to get beer. Police said Needham, 38, of 154 N. College St., Washington, took his 10-year-old and 7-year-old boys to a tavern on East Chestnut Street and left them outside while buying beer about 11:30 p.m. Friday. Police saw the children outside and stopped to find out why they were alone.
Police chase: City police said Candee Helmick, 21, of 369 N. Main St., Washington, led them on a short chase after officers tried to pull her over about 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said she crashed head-on into another vehicle while driving in the wrong direction on Victoria Street before running from officers. Helmick is charged with fleeing police, reckless endangerment, accident involving damage and several traffic violations. She is free on $15,000 unsecured bond set by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Harassment charge: Charles Morris Sr., 51, of 1200 Fayette St., Washington, is charged with harassment and disorderly conduct after city police said he became involved in a fight with his wife in their home about 7 p.m. Sunday. Police said he also caused problems with the officers when they arrived at the home.
Jewelry, tools stolen: Washington police are investigating the theft of jewelry and tools worth a combined $11,000 from a residence in the 1000 block of Jefferson Avenue. Police said they were alerted on Saturday afternoon to the theft of a diamond ring worth about $6,000 and various power tools worth a combined $5,000.
Radio station burglary: A microphone and several records and tape cassettes were stolen from the defunct WKZV radio station at 80 E. Chestnut St., city police said. Police said there was no forced entry and the burglary happened sometime after the radio station closed May 16.
