Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off the water between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. today on Strawberry Street between East and Washington streets in Waynesburg Borough to upgrade the system. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep containers of water to minimize the outage.
Municipal Authority of the Borough of Carmichaels will shut off the water for about four hours Thursday, beginning at 9 a.m., to make line repairs on the north side of West George and West Greene streets, from Circle K to the Carmichaels Clinic. If it rains, repairs will be made Aug. 15.
Country music will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the New Freeport fire hall. Bands scheduled to appear are Country Pride and Bob Podish. Cost is $4 and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.
