A local church is once again giving back to the community.

First Assembly of God in Eastview will be hosting a program filled with free giveaways at 10 a.m. Aug. 18. The Back-to-School Send Off will offer food, fun activities and more for any child in grades one through five visiting with at least one parent or legal guardian.

“First Assembly would like to provide a tangible blessing to the families in Greene County. This is a small investment in a most precious part of our society, the children,” said the Rev. Richard Ritenour, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, “We want to impart a spiritual and physical blessing to our neighbors within Greene County.”

The event will include a free back pack given to the first 100 children, a service for the adults and a back to school blast off for the children.

The event will include free prizes donated by Walmart and First Assembly of God, along with a lunch consisting of a hot dog, chips, cookie and a beverage.

Transportation to the church may be provided.
