PennDOT work schedule announced

Greene County Maintenance Manager Jerome Simkovic announced the following tentative work plan for the week of Aug. 12. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

The schedules is as follows:

• Community Work Program will be conducting a litter pick-up on Interstate 79 from the West Virginia state line (Perry Township) to the Washington County line (Washington Township).

• Bridge closure on Route 221, Lippencott Road (Morgan Township) in both directions through Nov. 1. Detour is in place.

• Concrete culvert rehabilitation at Muddy Creek Bridge will be conducted on Route 1021 Crucible Road (Cumberland Township) near Route 1023, Jacobs Ferry Road (Cumberland Township).

• Patching operations are scheduled for Route 19, Washington Road (Franklin Township), from Bill George Drive (Franklin Township) to Township Road 736, Country Lane (Franklin Township).

• Base repair will take place on Route 21 from the East Roy E. Furman Highway (Franklin Township) and Route 2026, Rolling Meadows Road (Franklin Township) to Township Road 545, Bosses Road (Cumberland Township), Route 18, Golden Oaks Road (Morris Township) to Browns Creek Road, and Route 4011, Dodge Ridge Road (Richhill Township).

• Shoulder cutting and grading activities are planned for Route 3010, Deep Valley Road (Springhill Township).

• Pipe repair/cleaning will take place on Route 18, Golden Oaks Road (Jackson Township) near Nettle Hill.

• Bridge replacement operations will be conducted on Route 18, Golden Oaks Road (Freeport Township), near the community of New Freeport. Traffic is restricted to one lane and controlled by traffic signal (new traffic pattern).

• Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and complaints will be addressed on various state routes throughout Greene County.
