Woman plows car into shoe store, injures two

1 min read

MCKEES ROCKS (AP) – A suburban Pittsburgh shoe store was preparing to reopen a day after a woman accidentally smashed into the store with her car, injuring two people.

Police in Robinson Township have yet to release the name of the driver or victims in Sunday afternoon’s crash at the DSW Shoes store at Robinson Town Center, a major mall a few miles west of the city.

Moon Run Fire Chief Paul Kashmer says the incident happened about 3:10 p.m. when the woman, who was parking in a handicapped space, accidentally stepped on the gas instead of her brake.

Crews say a woman and her adolescent son inside the store were hurt, though their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The Cadillac hopped the curb, smashed through a front window and traveled about 30 feet into the store.
