News from Bobtown
Daily Vacation Bible School was held at the Bobtown United Methodist Church last week with an average daily attendance of 60.
The theme for the occasion was Celebration Park with director Melinda Williams and assistant Cathy Ealy.
Teachers were Jenna Ealy, Stacey Harbarger, Amy Toland, Chelsie Wilkins, Michayla Henenhen-Smith and Shaylee Wilkins.
Each session began with the pledge to the American flag, followed with the pledge to the Christian flag and the Bible.
Each class studied the lesson for the day, followed with crafts, songs, outdoor time, snacks and closing prayer.
Each evening as the students left for home they were given a special treat. On closing day all enjoyed a pizza party and ice cream.
The 10th annual Back to School Bash for all students in the Southeastern Greene School District will be held at the Bobtown United Methodist Church lawn at 4 p.m. Sunday.
There will be games, face painting, food and a balloon release. All students will receive a package of school supplies.
The monthly meeting at the Administrative Council was held at the Bobtown United Methodist Church.
Pastor Ed Hanley opened the meeting with prayer.
The Back to School Bash on Sunday, Aug. 18 was announced with covered dish being an option and will be for all students of the Southeastern Greene School District.
It was decided treasurers from the three churches of Bobtown, Mt. Calvary and Taylortown will be meeting at least every three months.
It was announced that the Bible School had been a great success with all being thanked for their efforts.
Several items of interest pertaining to the church and its grounds were discussed.
After the business was completed the meeting was closed with prayer by the pastor.
The next meeting of will be held on the first Wednesday in September at 5:30 p.m.
