SCRANTON (AP) – The White House says Vice President Joe Biden will join President Barack Obama in Scranton on the final leg of the president’s upcoming bus tour through New York state and northeastern Pennsylvania.

Obama is scheduled to appear Friday at Lackawanna College, part of a two-day swing to promote affordability in higher education. He’s also planning stops in Buffalo, Syracuse and Binghamton, N.Y.

Biden spent part of his childhood in Scranton and has returned several times since becoming vice president.
