Local man faces new charges

2 min read

A Washington man already facing charges in Washington County Court for allegedly assaulting two brothers more than a year ago now faces new charges after he reportedly failed to appear before judges on two occasions.

Cameron Phillop Reihner, 22, of 286 E. Prospect Ave., was arraigned Monday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on two counts of default in required appearance for failing to keep two dates with Washington County judges to answer the felony assault charges.

Reihner was served notice to appear March 8 before Judge John DiSalle. Reihner reportedly appeared with his defense attorney, Peter Marcoline, but left the courtroom before DiSalle entered and convened court. DiSalle proceeded and revoked Reihner’s bond.

Reihner was then scheduled to appear before Judge Edward Borkowski April 19. Assistant District Attorney Justin Papciak talked with Marcoline prior to the scheduled hearing. Marcoline spoke to Reihner about the plea offer that had been made by the commonwealth and reportedly told his client to be in the courtroom on that date. Reihner again failed to show up, authorities said.

Reihner and his co-defendant, Troy Lamont Wilson Jr., 21, of Washington, are accused of assaulting Jonathan and Stephen Irizarry June 23, 2012.

The two men reportedly got into an argument with the brothers at Denny’s restaurant on West Chestnut Street in Canton Township. They then allegedly followed the two brothers to Houston and beat them with aluminum baseball bats.

Both men were charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, possessing instruments of a crime, harassment and disorderly conduct. Wilson, who is awaiting a court appearance on his charges, is free on a $50,000 percentage bond.

Reihner was placed in Washington County jail June 15 on a bench warrant. Redlinger set bond at $10,000 on the new charges filed by county Detective J.R. Sweeny. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 29 before Redlinger.
