Two sentenced in Greene County Court
Two people were sentenced in Greene County Court on unrelated charges recently. In addition to sentencing they must comply with all requirements regarding drugs and alcohol. They were:
William Thomas Sullivan, 56, of 9711 Lawngate Dr., Houston, Texas; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol and a summary traffic violation. Sullivan was stopped by Waynesburg Borough Police Jan. 29, 2012, after he drove the wrong way on Greene Steet near Morgan Street. His blood-alcohol content was 0.109 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, 75 hours of community service, $1,025 in fines, plus court costs and fees and a mandatory 12 month driver’s license suspension. Sullivan will serve his sentence beginning Sept. 27.
Kenneth Wayne Rhodes, 45, of Lot 4, Wheeling Creek MHP, Wind Ridge; offenses – accidents involving personal injury or death, accidents causing damage to an unattended vehicle, driving on a suspended license and four summary traffic violations. Rhodes fled the scene of an accident on foot on April 25 in Center Township. Police said Rhodes ran into the woods after he traveled into oncoming traffic in the 500 block of Barton Hollow Road, striking another vehicle. Rhodes was driving on a suspended license from a DUI conviction. There were four passengers in his vehicle at the time of the collision, including one 2-year old and one 4-year old boy. The 4-year-old was sitting on the lap of a front seat passenger. Both were injured in the crash. The 2-year old was in a safety seat that was not properly restrained. The children and the front seat passenger were transported by ambulance from the scene; sentence – 30 days to 23 ½ months in jail, $1,350 in fines, plus court costs and fees and restitution of $643.50.
