Ruckus Brewery coming to vacant former Pa. brewery

1 min read

ALLENTOWN (AP) – It looks like there’s going to be a Ruckus coming to Allentown in a couple of years.

The (Easton) Express-Times said New York City-based Ruckus Brewing Co. is opening on the site of the old Neuweiler Brewery on the Lehigh River waterfront by late 2014 or early 2015.

Ruckus CEO Josh Wood told the newspaper the site will produce about 100,000 barrels of beer a year. There also are plans for a brew pub and brewery tours.

The Neuweiler Brewery closed in 1968. The property was leased by other businesses but has been vacant since 1998.

Ruckus inked a $1.7 million sale agreement with Allentown officials earlier this year for the five-acre brewery complex.
