WCCF Gives deadline approaching

2 min read

Friday is the deadline for charities to register with Washington County Community Foundation for WCCF Gives, its community-wide day of giving Sept. 10. To date, 110 charities have registered.

During this 12-hour event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., WCCF will enhance contributions made to participating charities via www.wccfgives.org by a percentage of a $100,000 match pool.

“Since there is no limit to what a charity can raise through WCCF Gives, Citizens Library has spent many months building a dynamic marketing campaign. For instance, we have issued eBlasts and posted messages on our Facebook page specifically about the day of giving. When the Washington County Library System launched a new website, we added the WCCF Gives logo and links to www.wccfgives.org so that visitors could see which libraries are participating. And in addition to our electronic marketing efforts, Citizens has been giving WCCF Gives handouts to everyone who borrows an item from the library,” said Jackie Wright, digital services manager.

In addition to Citizens Library, Avella Area Public Library, Burgettstown Community Library, California Area Public Library, Canonsburg, Cecil, North Strabane Public Library Association, Chartiers-Houston Community Library, Fredericktown Area Public Library, Friends of the Peters Township Public Library, Heritage Public Library, Marianna Community Public Library and Monongahela Area Library will be participating in WCCF Gives. For the complete list of registered charities, please visit www.wccfgives.org.
