Minor injury reported in Ringgold school bus crash
A Ringgold Elementary School South student suffered minor injuries Friday morning when the school bus in which he was riding was struck from behind in Monongahela.
City police said the boy, who was not immediately identified by authorities, suffered a knee injury and was taken for treatment to Mon Valley Hospital.
The school bus driven by Daniel Lytle, 60, of Finleyville, had come to a stop on Route 88 south at the First Street railroad crossing when it was struck about 8:40 a.m. by a car driven by Brittany Lomax, 26, of Monongahela, police said.
Another child on the bus was treated at the scene for an asthma attack, police said. A number of parents were quick to the scene, wanting to take their children, and were instructed to meet them at the school in Carroll Township, police said.
