Daley offers workshops to help residents apply for state benefits

Staffers working for state Rep. Pete Daley, D-California, will be holding workshops to walk residents through the process of applying for a variety of state programs available next month.

Organizers will be at various locations in Charleroi, Marianna, Claysville, Belle Vernon and Monongahela throughout September. For a complete listing of meeting places and times, visit Daley’s website at

“We’re now down to the final four months to apply for a property tax or rent rebate on property taxes and rents paid in 2012,” Daley said in a news release. “The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975.”

Staffers will also help residents fill out forms for prescription drug assistance, college savings plans and other programs.
