N. Franklin apartment building damaged by fire

1 min read

A four-unit apartment building at 315 Mineola Ave. in North Franklin Township was all but destroyed due to a fire early Saturday.

No one was injured in the blaze, which broke out about 12:30 a.m., according to George McMullen, a captain with Washington Fire Department. He said the structure was engulfed in flames when his department arrived on the scene. McMullen wasn’t sure if all four units in the building were occupied.

Officials with North Franklin’s fire department could not be reached and the Pennsylvania State Police, the agency handling the investigation, said they had no information available as of Saturday evening.

A family consisting of two adults and one child were being assisted by the American Red Cross, according to spokeswoman Stacy Skiavo.
