Community events
Country music will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the New Freeport Fire Hall. Bands scheduled to appear are Country Pride and Bonnie Matthews and Friends. Cost is $4 and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.
A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Greensboro Presbyterian Church. Dr. Bob Randolph will be in charge of the service.
A community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Throckmorton United Methodist Church. The menu will include ham, scalloped potatoes, lima beans, desserts and beverages. The meal is free and donations are accepted.
