Court cases
Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Appearing before Judge Katherine B. Emery were:
Julie Hasson, 45, of 147 Boone Ave., Apt. 2, Strabane; first driving-under-the-influence offense, driving with a suspended license; charged April 30 following a one-vehicle accident on Wylie Avenue in North Strabane Township with a 0.159 percent blood-alcohol content; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, $700 in fines, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver’s license suspension.
Daniel S. Shriver, 22, of 57 Yankosky Road, Charleroi; first DUI offense, driving with a suspended license; charged June 9 following a traffic stop on Washington Avenue in Bentleyville with a 0.241 percent BAC; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,200 in fines, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver’s license suspension.
Mark A. Charley, 20, of 19 Carl St., Wheeling, W.Va.; theft by deception, criminal conspiracy; charged Sept. 30 at Walmart in South Strabane Township; sentence – 12 months of probation, 25 hours of community service.
Matthew J. Harrison, 21, of 108 Main St., Apt. 1, New Eagle; second DUI offense, fleeing/eluding police; charged May 19 following a traffic stop on Sycamore Street in New Eagle, no BAC listed; sentence – 6 to 12 months in jail, $750 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver’s license suspension.
Christopher A. Grycuk, 20, of 604 Clark Ave., Jeannette; theft; charged Sept. 25 at the Meadows Casino; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Carl J. Grimm, 37, of 509 Forest St., Monessen; third DUI offense, driving with a suspended license DUI-related; charged Nov. 17 following a traffic stop on West Main Street in Monongahela, refusing BAC testing; sentence – 1 to 2 years in jail, $3,500 in fines, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver’s license suspension.
Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:
Dwayne M. Grogan, 46, of 34 Columbus Drive, Monessen; simple assault; charged July 30, 2011, for assaulting a woman at 809 Fallowfield Ave., Apt. 1, Charleroi; sentence – 3 days to 18 months in jail.
Taivon I. Crews, 20, of 486 Seventh St., Donora; disorderly conduct; charged June 22 in the parking lot of McDonald’s in Monongahela; sentence – 3 days to 12 months in jail.
Patrick M. Clark, 20, of 1246 N. Main St., Washington; six counts of burglary, two counts of criminal conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking; charged for stealing copper piping from vacant homes in the Washington area in October 2011, and for stealing items from cars parked outside Northgate Apartments in South Strabane Township on May 9; sentence – 6 to 23 months in jail.

Danielle Metts, 44, of 130 Sugar Maple Ave., Washington; two counts of retail theft; charged Oct. 26 at Macy’s in North Franklin Township and Oct. 27 at Walmart in South Strabane Township; sentence – 23 months of probation with the first 3 months of intensive supervision.
Julie Maynard, 28, of 211 Crawford St., Houston; theft; charged Sept. 11 for stealing 95 lottery tickets while employed at the 7-Eleven in Canonsburg; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Desiree L. Fenton, 35, of 101 Fenton Lane, Prosperity; theft; charged for stealing medication while employed at a South Strabane Township doctor’s office in October; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Dana L. Clutter, 38, of 214 Shady Ave., Charleroi; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Nov. 3 at her home; sentence – 18 months of probation.
Ryan M. Zeigler, 28, of 340 Hancock St., Apt. 340, Washington; obtaining medication with false prescription; charged June 29 at Rite Aid in Washington; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Michael A. Dorsey, 18, of 504 North Ave., Apt. 2, Midway; possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Nov. 25 at his home; sentence – Probation Without Verdict program for 18 months.
Brandon Dyson, 32, of 811 Addison St., Washington; theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle; charged Sept. 28 for taking his grandmother’s vehicle without permission and then using her check card; sentence – 18 months of probation.
Lisa M. Stevenson, 45, of 219 Lutes Road, Finleyville; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Oct. 17 following a traffic stop on Southpointe Boulevard in Cecil; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Paul W. Henke, 39, of 1362 Hilltop Drive, Bulger; insurance fraud; charged Oct. 7, 2011, for making a false claim to his automotive insurance carrier; sentence – 24 months of probation.
Kimberly D. Kover, 24, of 920 Weirich Ave., Washington; access device fraud, burglary, endangering the welfare of children; charged for using a Canton Township woman’s bank card without permission from May 26 to May 29, on June 4 for breaking into 914 Weirich Ave., Canton Township, and on Aug. 12 at 450 Allison Ave., Washington; sentence – county 23-month restrictive intermediate punishment program with the first 90 days on electronic home monitoring, 100 hours of community service.
Four people were admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first-time offenders. If they successfully complete the program, they can petition the court to have their records expunged.
Zachary R. Vizyak, 18, of 1035 Fayette St., Washington, was admitted for 6 months for fleeing/eluding police. He was charged Oct. 11 following a traffic stop on Fayette Street in Washington.
Bobbi Jo Turner, 36, of 208 Crawford St., Canonsburg, was admitted for 12 months for theft and theft by deception. She was charged for falsely accepting money for a cruise from people in Canonsburg in October.
Crystal Grimes, 52, of 112 Wisebecker Road, Monongahela, was admitted for 12 months for theft by deception. She was charged Oct. 21 at Walmart in South Strabane Township.
James T. Larkin, 48, of 213 Fifth St., Apt. 3E, Charleroi, was admitted for 12 months for a first DUI offense. He was charged June 17 following a traffic stop on South McKean Avenue in Donora.
