Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off the water service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today on First and Fifth streets in Crucible to upgrade the system. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep some containers of water to minimize the outage.
West Greene Basketball Boosters will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the middle school gym.
Waynesburg Youth League Baseball signups are being held now through Feb. 23. Parents of children ages 4 to 14 can sign up their child by going to wybbaseball.org.
An all-you-can-eat family style ham, beans and cornbread meal will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Community Center. There also will be coleslaw, rolls, desserts and beverages. Cost is $8 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. The event is sponsored by the Jefferson United Methodist Church. Takeouts are available.
Country music will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at New Freeport fire hall. Scheduled to appear from 7 to 8:30 p.m. is Bob Podish, followed from 8:30 to 10 p.m. by Brad Crow and the Cutups. Cost is $3 and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.
West Greene Wrestling Boosters will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 12 in the vo-ag room at the high school.
Cornerstone Ministries Center in Jefferson is planning a teen and elementary happening from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 16 for youngsters in second through 12th grade. The cost is $5 per person, including lunch. There will be special speakers, puppets, music, dodge ball, carpet ball and competitive games for all ages. Free transportation is provided in Washington County by calling Carolyn at 724-222-7856 for pickup times and places.
