Charged in crash: Aaron Edward Sutton, 39, of Smith Township, was charged Friday by McDonald police with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, accidents involving unattended property, failure to render aid, abandoning a vehicle and other traffic violations stemming from a crash on North Main Street, Burgettstown. Sutton allegedly took the vehicle, owned by his sister, without permission and crashed it into a utility pole.

Charged in vandalism: Sean Bastin, 21, of Tarentum, and Anthony Micheluci, 21, of Presto, were charged with criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a door earlier this month at 529 Second St., California police said.

Marijuana, paraphernalia found: Olindo DeFelice, 20, of Bethel Park, was charged Friday by California police with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop at Third and Mechanic streets.

Assault charge: Alexandria Allen, 18, of Monroeville, was charged Friday by California police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly punching Lynsey Szymarek, throwing her to the ground and slamming her head off the ground during a Jan. 31 confrontation at Cross Street apartments. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Money stolen: The manager of Liberty Tax Service, 62 E. Pike St., told Canonsburg police Wednesday that $420 was stolen from a lock box in a filing cabinet.

Charged after stop: Lisa A. Yeager, 47, of 245 Meadowview Drive, Canonsburg, was charged by state police after a Jan. 30 traffic stop at West Pike and Bluff streets in Canonsburg. Police said they found an open container of alcohol in Yeager’s car. They also charged her with DUI of alcohol and drugs. Police said her BAC was almost double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication, and she allegedly had cocaine in her system. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Hurt in crash: Laura McLaughlin, 51, of Washington, was injured early Friday when her vehicle went off northbound Interstate 79 near the Southpointe exit, Cecil, into the median and overturned. The vehicle then slid across the northbound lanes and hit a light pole, state police said.

Test switch: Rachel R. Phillips, 30, of 413 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, was charged after she allegedly brought in a container with clean urine during testing by Washington County adult probation at the Chartiers police station Feb. 1. Chartiers police said she told the probation officer that she would otherwise test positive for heroin and marijuana. A charge of failure to furnish drug-free urine will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Charged in crash: Amy E. Weinstock, 31, of 204 Wylie Ave., Strabane, will be charged with DUI after crashing into a utility pole at West Pike and Short streets about 1:40 a.m. Thursday. Chartiers police said her BAC was more than double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication.

Disorderly, drunkenness charges: Margaret Zombeck, 53, of 582 Purdy Road, Burgettstown, was charged by McDonald police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after allegedly creating a disturbance in the lobby of Pitt Hotel, 110 S. McDonald St., on Saturday. Police said she told officers she had a dozen drinks and had no way of getting home.

Woman charged: Kimberly Ballentyne, 47, of 305 Cherry Ave., Houston, was charged this week by North Franklin police with leaving the scene of a Feb. 5 crash on Scenic Drive near Park Avenue.

Counterfeit money passed: State police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino said a counterfeit $50 bill was passed Saturday morning at the casino.

Trespass charge: Cam Tienh Thi Dinh, 35, of Pittsburgh, was charged by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino with criminal trespass after he was found at the casino Sunday. He was not permitted to be there, police said.

Charged in crash: Cody Daniel Mastic, 19, of 507 Fifth St., McDonald, was charged Friday by McDonald police with DUI by a minor, underage drinking, accidents involving damaged to unattended property and several traffic violations stemming from a Jan. 7 crash on Noblestown Road, Robinson. Police said his BAC was almost five times the 0.02 percent limit presumed for intoxication for anyone younger than 21. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Valarie Costanzo.

Retail theft charge: Mercedes M. Hull, 20, of 133 Hall Ave., Washington, was charged Friday by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing items valued at $198 from Target, Strabane Square, on Jan. 23. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Charged in assault: Frank E. Bunnell, 49, of 1185 1/2 Bruce St., Washington, was charged this week by South Strabane police with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment stemming from an apparent road rage incident last month in the parking lot of Strabane Square. Bunnell is accused of punching David Sylvia when he got out of his car. Sylvia told police he put Bunnell in a headlock in an attempt to restrain him, but the other man poked him in the eyes. Bunnell told police he was angry because Sylvia failed to use a turn signal, almost causing him to crash. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Five charged: Five people were charged by Washington police stemming from a disturbance about 6 p.m. Wednesday at 1090 Jefferson Ave. Police were called because four people were distributing fliers taken from the Megan’s Law website. Brett Herring, 23, of 178 Jollick Manor, Washington, and April Herring, 31, of 1090 Jefferson, allegedly exchanged punches. Charged with harassment and criminal trespass were Shawn Herring, 24, and Nathan Zaccone, 19, both of 128 Christman Ave., Washington; Brett Herring and Justin Scears, 20, of 127 Jollick Manor. April Herring was charged with harassment.

Charged in theft: Malachi Simmons, 40, of 105 Church St., Washington, was charged by Washington police with retail theft after he allegedly stole seven bottles of liquor valued at more than $235 from the Wine and Spirits store, Jefferson Avenue. He reportedly stole the liquor during two visits.

Fraudulent returns: Bobbi Blayney of 150 Jollick Manor and Stephen McFarlane of 625 Broad St. each told Washington police Wednesday that their Social Security numbers were used to file fraudulent tax returns.

Medication stolen: Jerald Allshouse of 217 E. Maiden St. told Washington police Wednesday that prescription medication and money were stolen from his home.

Mirrors damaged: Washington police said mirrors were damaged on six vehicles parked in the 200 block of North Franklin Street early Thursday.

Items stolen: Tonna Parker of 240 Linn Ave. told Washington police Wednesday that a laptop computer, Pittsburgh Steelers photograph and jewelry were stolen from her home.

Rape investigation: A 14-year-old Washington girl told Washington police that she was repeatedly raped over a seven-year period. Police are investigating.
