Scholarship applications available
CARMICHAELS – The Carmichaels Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Sara L. Ruth Scholarship applications are now available at Carmichaels Area Junior-Senior High School.
The essay scholarship is open to all seniors with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 and the applicant must be a graduating member of the class of 2013.
The applicant is required to write a 500-word (maximum) essay on the topic, “Violence throughout America,” addressing what steps one would take to help solve the violence that has escalated throughout America.
All applications must be submitted no later than March 28.
The scholarship will be awarded at the annual Carmichaels Area Chamber of Commerce Dinner Dance April 27 at the Carmichaels Cumberland Township Volunteer Fire Department’s social hall.
Tickets are now available at Brodak’s Shop ‘N Save, Yingling Insurance Agency and from all officers and directors.
