Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges.
Appearing before Judge Edward Borkowski were:
Kurt M. Karmann, 22, of 1204 Sunset Drive, Bulger; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged following a traffic stop Nov. 30 on North McDonald Street in McDonald that led to a search of his residence; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Del E. Nyswaner, 47, of Clarksville; false identification to law enforcement; charged for falsely identifying himself during a traffic stop Nov. 12, 2011, on Interstate 70 near Route 19; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Amanda D. Sonson, 23, of 281 Country Club Road, Washington; theft, conspiracy to commit theft; charged for stealing cash while working as a cashier at the Trinity Point Walmart in South Strabane Township between September and November 2012; sentence – 18 months of probation, ordered to pay $2,340 in restitution.
Latoya L. Thomas, 34, of 555 Duncan Ave., Washington; harassment; charged Nov. 22 for harassing a Washington man over the phone; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Jocelynn J. Watts, 20, of 52 Burton Ave., Washington; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged following a traffic stop Oct. 13 near Church and North Franklin streets in Washington; sentence – Probation Without Verdict program for 12 months.
Edward P. Bajus, 60, of 103 West Ohara St., Apt. 6, McDonald; possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license; charged following a traffic stop Oct. 14 near the intersection of Oblock Lane and Millers Run Road; sentence – Probation Without Verdict program for 6 months, $200 fine.
Kevin L. Jones, 37, of 626 Rockdale St., Cincinnati, Ohio; retail theft; charged for stealing merchandise Jan. 5 from the Trinity Point Walmart in South Strabane Township; sentence – 12 months in jail, paroled immediately.
Tyree T. Jackson, 22, of 339 Locust Ave., Apt. A, Washington; possession of marijuana with intent to deliver; charged following a traffic stop July 4 in the 700 block of Broad Street in Washington; sentence – 23 months of probation.
Cori L. Scott, 22, of 215 ½ Murdock St., Canonsburg; retail theft; charged Sept. 18 for stealing merchandise from CVS Pharmacy, 175 W. Beau St., Washington; sentence – 18 months of probation, ordered to attend retail theft classes.
Joseph E. Buddehagen, 29, of 3060 Dividend Drive, Washington; theft; charged for stealing jewelry Oct. 9 from his ex-girlfriend at her Arlington Avenue residence in Canton Township; sentence – 23 months of probation with the first 9 months on intensive supervision, ordered to pay $1,445 in restitution.
Christine M. Cain, 25, of 105 Conklin Drive, Washington; possession of a controlled substance; charged following a traffic stop Nov. 8 in the 100 block of Highland Avenue in Washington; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Brian T. Butt, 27, of 742 Bower Hill Road, Bridgeville; theft; charged by Cecil police for stealing items from his mother’s residence between Nov. 1 and Dec. 26; sentence – 18 months of probation with the first 6 months on intensive supervision, ordered to pay $5,300 in restitution.
Appearing before President Judge Debbie O’Dell Seneca were:
Kenneth Buzzard, 33, of 263 Old Haymaker Road, Monroeville; first offense of driving under the influence; charged following a traffic stop Oct. 12 at Exit 25 on Interstate 70 in Somerset Township for having a blood-alcohol content of 0.235 percent; sentence – 6 to 23 months of probation with the first 6 months on electronic home monitoring including SCRAM.
Kenneth Maise, 50, of 601 McKean Ave., Apt. 207, of Charleroi; first offense of DUI; charged following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue in North Charleroi for having a BAC of 0.3 percent; sentence – 30 days to 6 months in jail.
Several people were also admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first-time offenders. If they successfully complete the program, the can petition the court to expunge their records.
Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:
Mark E. Downey, 44, of 608 Sheridan St., Monongahela, was admitted for 12 months for false insurance claims and false reports. He was charged April 2 after providing false information about a crash he claimed he was involved in at Sixth and Chess streets in Monongahela.
Aaron L. Pato, 21, of 209 Grant St. Ext., Star Junction, was admitted for 12 months for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was charged Sept. 3 for driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent in Donora.
Samuel W. Derrow, 53, of 1647 Deerfield Road, Washington, was admitted for 12 months for retail theft. He was charged Oct. 20 at the Trinity Point Sam’s Club in South Strabane Township.
Patricia Derrow, 48, of 1647 Deerfield Road, Washington, was admitted for 12 months for retail theft. She was charged Oct. 20 at the Trinity Point Sam’s Club in South Strabane Township.
Lacinda J. Miller, 42 of 213 Bald Hill Church Road, Mt. Morris, was admitted for 12 months for retail theft. She was charged Nov. 3 at Gabriel Brothers.
Kevin M. Cowden, 32, of 22 Wabash Ave., Hickory, was admitted for 12 months for retail theft. He was charged Dec. 5 at the Trinity Point Walmart in South Strabane.

Admitted to the ARD program for a non-DUI offense was:
Michael C. Carlini, 44, of 8050 Route 219, Brockway, admitted for 12 months for resisting arrest. He was charged for resisting arrest Aug. 9 in the 1100 block of West Chestnut Street in North Franklin Township.
Others admitted to the ARD program were:
Theda Svitek, 74, of 319 Euclid Ave., Canonsburg, was admitted for 12 months and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service for access device fraud and theft. Svitek was charged Feb. 6 after a Canonsburg residence reported unauthorized transactions totaling $1,475.
The following person was admitted to the ARD program for 12 months for a first offense of DUI:
Lori A. Garove, 51, of 3180 Jefferson Ave., Washington; and Matthew W. Patterson, 26, of 600 Hayes Avenue, Washington.
