One dead, two hurt in house fire

1 min read

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Fire officials say one person is dead and two people are hurt after a fast-moving row house fire in southwest Philadelphia.

Investigators say crews were called around 11:30 p.m. Sunday and that the fire was brought under control quickly. But firefighters found a man’s body inside.

Two other people were taken to a hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation and burns.

Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers says the residents of the home were apparently using space heaters, but the cause of the blaze wasn’t immediately released. He says crews did not find any working smoke alarms in the house.
