Ribbons for rabbits
Three Greene County residents, two who are members of the Greene County 4-H Rabbit Club, competed at the Pennyslvania State Farm Show Jan. 4 in Harrisburg.
The two club members were Chelsey Wilson, daughter of Amy and Doug Wilson, and Cara Longstreth, daughter of Chuck and Jane Longstreth, both of Waynesburg.
Wilson placed 10th in the Senior Division (14-18 yrs) Rabbit Showmanship out of 23 contestants, but she took top honors with her Standard Chin, receiving the title of Best Opposite of Breed. She also received several other ribbons for the rest of her Standard Chin herd and many of her Dutch rabbits.
Longstreth competed in the Novice (first time exhibitors) Division Rabbit Showmanship and placed in the top 10. She also took third place with her Holland Lop Doe.
Also exhibiting was Lindsey Longstreth, who competed in the Open Division, receiving two seconds with a Broken Polish Senior Doe and a Broken Polish Senior Buck.
