Speakers, seminars scheduled at Ryerson
WIND RIDGE – The Friends of Ryerson Station, along with some of the staff of Ryerson Station State Park, is planning the eighth annual Winter Fest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 26.
Presentations conducted by members of Team Greene will include three short seminars for anyone interested in hunting and the outdoors, At 10 a.m., there will be “Talking Turkey – Answering the Call;” at 10:45 a.m., “Words of the Whitetail;” and at 11:30 a.m., “The Mark.”
At 1 p.m., Bob Faddis will speak about the “History of the Kentucky Rifle,” and at 2 p.m., park volunteers will lead an interpretive hike.
In addition to the scheduled events, there will be local re-enactors on hand all day to give everyone a glimpse into the ways of the past. Several children’s activities, along with opportunities to partake in several outdoor activities, including sled riding, ice-skating and hiking, weather permitting, also are scheduled.
