Winter storm causes delays across state

1 min read

STATE COLLEGE (AP) – A winter storm with snow, sleet and freezing rain is causing some delays and slick roads in Pennsylvania.

The wintry mix has delayed the openings of schools in some areas, including numerous districts in Centre County in central Pennsylvania. In northeastern Pennsylvania, some schools are opening late and speed limits have been lowered on some interstates due to hazardous conditions.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission are urging drivers to be cautious, reduce speeds and keep an eye out for snow removal equipment.

Several inches of snow fell in Harrisburg and other areas, while many places are seeing mostly rain.
