A community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the social hall of Rogersville United Methodist Church. The meal will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and beverage. A spaghetti fundraiser dinner to benefit Boy Scout Troop 1280 of Waynesburg will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 1 in St. Ann Church, Waynesburg. Dinner also will include salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children and those 3 and under eat free. Takeout and deliveries to local businesses are available.
The Jim Moore Foundation will host a charity trivia contest at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at Rohanna’s Restaurant. Proceeds will benefit the Raider Athletics Organization and Waynesburg Central High School Quarterback Club. Local individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to form four-or-five-person teams to compete in this after-work event. The trivia categories include sports, music, literature, pop culture, history and geography. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team and there is a $10 per-person entry fee. Nathanael Greene Historical Foundation is sponsoring its fourth annual trip to New York City May 3. This is a two-day trip. The group will travel by charter bus with departure at 6 a.m. in Greensboro, Carmichaels and Waynesburg. The group will be staying at the Manhattan of Times Square near shopping, dining, sightseeing and Broadway shows. You will be on your own to enjoy all the city has to offer.
