County events announced
The Thomas Hughes House Reading Center in Jefferson will be closed today.
East Franklin Grange will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Carol Young will address the group regarding programs available with the American Cancer Society, and Martha Williams, grange secretary, will be collecting annual dues. Items on the meeting agenda will include dates for fundraisers, dates for making apple butter, a trip to the Washington Symphony Orchestra’s February concert, Greene County Pomona Grange meetings and plans for 2013 and ways to raise funds to pay for a new roof for the grange hall. Special guests from New Freedom Grange will be present to discuss activities to be held in the west end of the county and to propose joint ventures between the two granges.
