Electronics recycling law takes effect Thursday

1 min read

Beginning Thursday, electronic devices can no longer be thrown away with household trash.

The Pennsylvania Covered Device Recycling Act, which goes into effect on that day, requires people not to dispose of old computers, laptops, monitors, televisions and tablets with the trash. Trash haulers will no longer take these devices. Residents can recycle their electronics through county or municipal recycling programs. More information on where to recycle electronic devices can be found at www.dep.state.pa.us, using the keyword electronics recycling, or by calling 1-800-346-4242.
