Assault charge: Jacob Wilson, 35, of 211 Third St., Bentleyville, was arrested Monday by state police for allegedly assaulting Michelle Lynn Trush, 49, of California, after the two reportedly got into an argument over his contacting his ex-girlfriend on Facebook. He reportedly pushed Trush, then picked up a gun and held it to his head. Police said he then pushed her down onto a bed and held the gun to her head. Wilson told police the gun was not loaded. Police took custody of the weapon. Wilson was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was released.
Girls charged: Two 15-year-old Washington girls were charged by borough police at 1:10 p.m. Jan. 13 after an employee of a business in the 400 block of Railroad Street told police the girls stole items, borough police said. When apprehended, both girls provided false names to police. They will appear in Allegheny County Juvenile Court and are charged with retail theft, hindering apprehension, false identification to police and criminal conspiracy.
Bus, vehicle crash: Howard T. Stoy, 43, of Jeannette, was slightly injured Jan. 16 when his vehicle ran into the back of a Canon-McMillan school bus that was stopped at a railroad crossing on South Central Avenue, Canonsburg police said. The bus driver was identified as Daniel Kemp, 69, of McDonald. There were no students on the bus.
Television stolen: Alfred Davis of 56 Griffith Ave., Canton, told state police a 40-inch flat-screen television was stolen from his home Monday. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call Trooper Nathan Brown at 724-223-5200.
Arrested on drug charges: George Daube, 56, of 118 McKean Ave., Donora, was arrested Sunday night on drug charges by Donora police after suspected Vicodin and another drug were found in his house during a state parole compliance check. Parole agents said they found two plastic bags in his bedroom. Both bags allegedly contained Vicodin, while one of the bags also had a second drug in it. Police said they also found a dollar bill with suspected cocaine residue, and a stun gun. Daube was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver crack and drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Bar owners cited: The operators of the former Club 40, 3390 W. Chestnut St., North Franklin, were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly allowing smoking and failing to post signs under the Clean Indoor Air Act. The violations allegedly occurred June 2.
Charged in assault: Andrew G. Kuchera, 53, of 606 Hickory Circle, North Strabane, was arrested Monday night after he allegedly assaulted Denise Zamiska, 47, at their home, North Strabane police said. The two reportedly had an argument about their relationship. He allegedly grabbed her by the hair and dragged her around the house, then pushed her into a shower door, damaging it, police said. Kuchera was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Woman arraigned: Olivia E. Domenick, 21, of Coraopolis, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of retail theft and criminal conspiracy. She, along with Pamela Smallis, 49, and Jeremy C. Stover, 24, also of Coraopolis, are accused of stealing Apple iPads and iPods valued at $9,972 from Walmart, Trinity Point, earlier this month. Domenick was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. Stover, who was arraigned last week, also was jailed on $10,000 bond. Police have a warrant for Smallis’ arrest.
Stolen check charges: Darren Eli Scott, 29, and Lauren A. Kotz, 23, both of 22 Ridge Ave., were charged with receiving stolen property involving checks that belonged to Ella Ann Hatfield of 52 W. Maiden St. Hatfield told police she returned home in September to find several items missing from her home. On Dec. 18, while checking her bank statement, she realized money was missing from her account. Police said Scott had cashed checks for $900 and $620 in September, while Kotz had cashed a check for $550 in November. The charges were filed with District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug charges: Cameron Phillip Reihner, 21, of 286 E. Prospect Ave., was charged with possession of a controlled substance after three bags of heroin allegedly were found in a vehicle he was riding in Dec. 23. Police said they stopped the vehicle and noticed a smell of marijuana. While searching it, they said they found the heroin under the driver’s seat and Reihner said it belonged to him, not the operator of the car. Charges were filed with District Judge Robert Redlinger.
