Student brings pocket knife to school
A 13-year-old Amwell Township boy faces charges after bringing a weapon to Trinity Middle School Monday, North Franklin police said.
School administrators got information that the boy was showing other students a knife. He handed the knife over to Principal Peter Keruskin without incident. The boy had the knife in the right pocket of his hooded shirt.
Township police Chief Rich Horner said the boy did not brandish the weapon or threaten any students.
Dr. Paul Kasunich, Trinity School District superintendent, said the boy has been suspended from school pending a hearing. Kasunich will decide on the appropriate action after meeting with the boy.
Police have filed a juvenile referral with Washington County juvenile probation officials, who will file a juvenile allegation on a charge of possessing weapon on school property.
