Western Pa. contingent headed to March for Life
People Concerned for the Unborn Child, a Pittsburgh-based pro-life organization, will sponsor buses to transport the Western Pennsylvania contingent of residents to the 40th March for Life, the annual gathering in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Catholic Church.
The march, scheduled for Friday, will take place close to the anniversary of the date the Supreme Court issued its landmark Roe v. Wade decision. Scheduled speakers for the rally include former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum. A Mass will be held at the Verizon Center in downtown D.C. The rally begins Friday at noon at the Capitol.
According to a news release distributed by the PCUC, buses will pick up participants at several Washington County churches: St. Patrick in Canonsburg, St. Benedict and Bible Chapel in McMurray, Miraculous Medal in Meadow Lands and Immaculate Conception in Washington. In all, a total of eight charter busses will be leaving from the Washington area. For more information, call Mary Lou Gartner at 412-793-0807.
