PITTSBURGH (AP) – A Pittsburgh-area woman who waited more than an hour to call for help after her boyfriend allegedly beat her 11-year-old son to death has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Thirty-one-year-old Cynthia McKee pleaded guilty Thursday. Sentencing is scheduled for March 27.

Police say McKee’s boyfriend allegedly beat her son Donovan over a nine-hour period at the couple’s apartment last February. Authorities say Cynthia McKee was at work during the beating, and after she arrived home and found her son unresponsive waited over an hour before calling 911.

The boy died at a hospital a few hours later.

McKee’s boyfriend, Anthony Bush, is scheduled to go to trial on homicide charges Jan. 28.
