Two taken into custody
Two people taken into custody Wednesday by South Strabane Township police were wanted on warrants, one obtained by township police and the other by Roscoe-Elco-Stockdale-Allenport regional police.
Mindi McCloy, 22, of 164 Bow St., Stockdale, and Laurenti J. Robertson, 22, of 205 Woodland Ave., Charleroi, were found outside Walmart, Trinity Point, with drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Robertson was wanted by South Strabane police for allegedly stealing items from Walmart on four occasions earlier this month with Robert A. Naber, 30, of Belle Vernon, and then returning the items to customer service for refunds.
Robertson was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of theft by deception and criminal conspiracy for those incidents as well as for possessing paraphernalia. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000. Police obtained a warrant for Naber on theft and conspiracy charges. He is in jail on a probation violation.
McCloy was wanted on a warrant on charges of possession of heroin as well as traffic violations stemming from an Jan. 11 incident on Furlong Avenue at Cowen Street in Roscoe. She was released to RESA police, who took her to District Judge Larry Hopkins for arraignment on the drug charges. She was placed in jail on $35,000 bond.
McCloy also faces drug paraphernalia charges filed by South Strabane police in connection with Wednesday’s incident.
