Fraud reported: Dolores George of Bentleyville told Southwest Regional police Friday she received calls she had won a Pennsylvania lottery game. The caller wanted her to go to the nearest Walmart to claim her winnings.
Burglary reported: Shaun McDonough of 104 Piersol Ave., Bentleyville, told Southwest Regional police Jan. 19 that $800, a Sony PlayStation and a gun were stolen from his home.
Warrant served: Gino Manno, 22, of 18 Maple Ave., Burgettstown, was arrested Jan. 19 on a warrant from Allegheny County, McDonald police said. He was taken into custody at his home and transported to the Allegheny County jail.
Hurt in crash: Megan E. Snieth, 25, of 126 1/2 E. Prospect Ave., Charleoi, was injured Monday morning when her vehicle slid off Old National Pike and rolled onto its side, California police said. She was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment.
Fire ruled accidental: A blaze that destroyed a Denbo home earlier this month has been ruled accidental in nature by a state police fire marshal. According to police, Michael and Brittany Buddemeyer and their two young children escaped serious injury when their home at 82 Vesta St. caught fire about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10. State police Fire Marshal S.L. Jones said the blaze started at the fireplace and caused $65,000 in damage. Denbo-Vesta Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire. Fire crews from West Brownsville, East Bethlehem Township, California and Richeyville assisted at the scene.
Sisters arrested: Two sisters, Joelle Provance, 28, and Alycia Mitchell, 29, both of 715 N. Main St., Chartiers, were arrested for allegedly assaulting each other about midnight Friday at their home, township police said. Provance is accused of hitting Mitchell in the face while Mitchell is accused of hitting her sister in the face and biting a finger. Both were arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of simple assault and harassment. They were each placed in the Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.
Machines damaged: Vending machines at the Interstate 70 Welcome Center were reported damaged Jan. 22, state police said.
Cigarettes stolen: Monongahela police are looking for a man who stole two cartons of cigarettes valued at $130 from the Sunoco, Route 88, Fionleyville, Thursday night. The thief is white and wore a black jacket.
Scrap reported stolen: Charles L. Morgan of Avella reported to state police miscellaneous scrap metal was stolen Saturday from his barn, located in the 4200 block of Jefferson Avenue in Hopewell Township. Police said charges against known suspects are pending an investigation.
Debit card stolen: Regis Brozier of 15 Wilson Ave., Independence, told McDonald police Jan. 22 his debit card was stolen. It was used to make several purchases while other transactions were denied.
Driver charged: Ryan Michael Crabtree, 21, of 478 Westland Road, Hickory, was charged last week by McDonald police in connection with a Jan. 12 crash on North Avenue, Midway. Crabtree was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he hit a retaining wall. His blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Teens charged: A 16-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl, both from Washington, will be charged in a juvenile allegation with simple assault and conspiracy by North Franklin police. They are accused of assaulting a security guard last April at Macy’s, Washington Crown Center. A 15-year-old Washington girl, charged with stealing items from the store, gave police their names during her hearing on retail theft charges.
Man wanted: Russell Kerr, 29, who is homeless, is wanted by North Franklin police on charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. He is accused of stealing four pieces of jewelry valued at $10,000 from his sister’s home at 540 Franklin Terrace earlier this month and selling the items at a resale shop. A warrant was obtianed from District Judge Robert Redlinger. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-228-9610.
Wallet stolen: Brittany Blankinsop of 195 Grove Ave., Washington, told North Franklin police Sunday her wallet containing two money orders totaling $290 and $40 in cash were stolen from her purse while she was working at Long John Silver’s, West Chestnut Street.
Truck damaged: William Strnisha of 191 Cleveland Road told North Franklin police Saturday his pickup truck was damaged.
Girl charged: A 14-year-old Canton Township was charged by North Franklin police with criminal mischief after a cellphone she reportedly stole from another girl’s locker at Trinity Middle School was returned damaged, North Franklin police said.
Wanted woman nabbed: Toya Keonia Heard of Dayton, Ohio, was arrested as a fugitve from justice Saturday at Tanger Outlets, South Strabane police said. Police were called to investigate a theft. When they checked, police learned Heard is wanted on a warrant in Montgomery County, Ohio, for allegedly tampering with records.
Man cited: John Golick, 52, of 1046 Allison Ave., Washington, was charged with criminal mischief after he was found intoxicated, lying in the street, in the 100 block of Woodland Ave., early Friday.
Car stolen: Kylee Sapp of 39 Shannon Ave. told Washington police Saturday her 1995 Cadillac was stolen from in front of her home. The keys were in the vehicle, but it is not operable.
Women charged: Brandy McMasters, 30, of 45 Baird Ave., Washington, and Alyssa Adkins, 23, of 220 Welsh Road, Washington, each were charged by Washington police with harassment after allegedly hitting each other Saturday at McMasters’ home.
Window broken: Tiffany Johnson of 126 Hall Ave. told Washington police Monday the passenger-side window of her car was damaged.
Tote stolen: Mark Struill of 267 Locust Ave. told Washington police Sunday his garbage tote was stolen.
Simple assault charge: Matthew McDonald, 19, of 126 Bell Ave., Claysville, was charged Thursday with simple assault for allegedly punching a man in the face Nov. 16 at the Circle K convenience store on West Chestnut Street in Washington, court records show. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug charges: Poncho Darnell Harris, 33, of 440 ½ Ewing St., Washington, was charged Thursday with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana after city police reportedly found small bags of cocaine and marijuana in his pants during a search Jan. 19 in the 100 block of West Walnut Street, court records show. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug charges: David Kempf, age unavailable, of 14 Acheson Ave., Washington, was charged Thursday with one count of possession of a controlled substance and five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to his residence Jan. 19 for a report of a heroin overdose. Police reportedly found four stamp bags containing heroin residue and a hypodermic needle in the apartment, according to court documents. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Retail theft: Jennifer Wells, 29, of 7 Railroad St., Roscoe, was charged Thursday with retail theft for allegedly trying to steal two MP3 players Nov. 16 from the CVS Pharmacy on West Beau Street in Washington, court records show. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Charges filed: Ryan Lafon Wallace, 25, of 262 E. Hallam Ave., Washington, was charged Thursday with obstructing the administration of law, disorderly conduct and driving with a suspended license after he reportedly became argumentative and belligerent with city police after officers stopped him Jan. 10 in the 300 block of North Franklin Street, court records show. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Charges filed: Bill Miyesa, 38, of 385 Allison Ave., Washington, was charged Thursday with possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and two driving-related offenses after he allegedly struggled with city police when an officer found a crack pipe in his jacket following a traffic stop Dec. 31 at Hall Avenue and Shrub Avenue, court records show. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
